Security with no fine print
Constela has access to your code and your terminal, so we treat it that way.
- Everything runs on your PC: no Constela server, no database with your stuff.
- The app only accepts requests from its own window, with a new key on every launch.
- The AIs ask permission for each command or file; approving one doesn't approve the rest.
- Keys and tokens are masked before saving memory or sending anything to an AI.
- HTML previews are isolated and only see their own project folder.
- You use your own accounts with their official sign-in, within your plan's limits.
Frequently asked questions
Is it free?
Yes. Constela is free during the beta. You do need your own Claude (Pro or Max) or ChatGPT accounts.
Can it combine or bypass limits?
No. You use your accounts within your plan's limits, and each service has its own terms of use. Constela isn't for that.
Does my data leave my PC?
Only what you send to the AI you choose, just like in their official apps. Constela has no servers and stores nothing elsewhere.
Windows shows a warning when installing
That's expected during the beta: the installer isn't signed yet. Click "More info" and then "Run anyway".
Is there a Mac or Linux version?
Not yet. We're starting with Windows; Mac comes after the beta.
What do I need to install?
Just Constela. If Claude Code or Codex (Anthropic's and OpenAI's official programs) are missing, the app installs them with their official installers.
